Mourinho is a candidate to return to the Premier League
Jose Mourinho has emerged as a surprise candidate to become the next Premier League manager, according to reports on Thursday morning.
The Sun reported that Everton’s new owners, The Friedkin Group (TFG), are planning to dispense with the services of coach Sean Dyche by next week.
The newspaper added that the American owners are seriously considering alternatives, including the return of former coach David Moyes to take over the task and lead the club to its new stadium in Bramley-Moore Dock next summer.
It added that the nominations put Mourinho, the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham coach, at the top of the list, in a deal that would be exceptional if it happened, because TFG owner Dan Friedkin, who also owns Roma, had sacked the Portuguese coach a year ago.
The Portuguese coach, who took over Fenerbahce last summer, is experiencing tension with the Turkish authorities over the way the league is run.
The Sun indicated that Mourinho is keen to get a new opportunity to work in the English Premier League.
