Arteta: Premier League title is not in our hands

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance against Brentford, and returning with the three points.

Arsenal achieved an important victory, at the expense of Brentford, with a score of 3-1, today, Wednesday, at Griffin Park Stadium, in the 19th round of the Premier League.

Arteta said, in statements to the BBC network after the match: “We achieved a great victory, they are a really good team, they are undergoing very good training and they were exceptional at home.”

He added: “When you are behind them by a goal early in the match, it becomes very difficult, but the team remained patient, we had to manage the situation emotionally.”

Regarding their performance in the second half, he said: “We started really well, and we took advantage of that and were very decisive in the penalty area.. Maybe we had to retreat a little, but we started well.”

Regarding the title race, he said: “We can only win our next match and see what happens.. It is not in our hands.”

Arsenal achieved their third consecutive victory in the Premier League, after beating Crystal Palace (5-1) and Ipswich Town (1-0) in the last two matches, to narrow the gap with Liverpool to 6 points.

Arsenal raised its score to 39 points in second place, 6 points behind Liverpool, the leader, who has a postponed match against Everton.
