One step separates Martin Dubravka from joining Al-Shabab Saudi Club
Al-Shabab Saudi Club has concluded its first deal during the 2025 winter transfer period, and the newspaper “Asharq Al-Awsat” said that Al-Shabab has reached a final agreement with Newcastle United to buy the remainder of goalkeeper Martin Dubravka’s contract during the current winter period.
It explained: “The Slovak international goalkeeper has reached an agreement with Al-Shabab on the full personal terms and the duration of the contract, and the deal awaits the approval of the Financial Sustainability Committee before the official signing between the parties.”
Al-Shabab was looking to strengthen the goalkeeper position after South Korean goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu suffered a second cruciate ligament rupture, which means he will be absent until the end of the season in the Saudi League.
It is noteworthy that Al-Shabab announced its contract with Turkish coach Fatih Terim to lead the team, succeeding Portuguese Vitor Pereira, who left for Wolverhampton.
Fatih Terim has extensive coaching experience that began in 1990 by coaching the Turkish youth team and then the first team in more than one state, as well as Galatasaray, Fiorentina, Milan and Panathinaikos.
