Chelsea in trouble over player’s future
Chelsea face a major challenge in finding a solution for the future of English player Ben Chilwell, who is no longer in the plans of coach Enzo Maresca.
Chilwell, the 28-year-old left-back, earns around £190,000 a week at Chelsea, but has not played a single Premier League match this season.
The player was part of a group of players who were informed last summer that they were not in the club’s plans under the new manager.
According to The Sun, the club may have to take major steps to get rid of Chilwell’s contract, such as paying a large financial compensation to terminate his contract, or paying his salary if he is loaned to another club in the Premier League.
Despite his current situation, Chilwell was part of the team that won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, which highlights his talent and distinguished record in the past.
