Ancelotti: What happened to Barcelona was unexpected

Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, confirmed that the competition for the league title this season will be very fierce.

Ancelotti said in a press conference today, Thursday, before facing Valencia tomorrow in a postponed match: “Barcelona’s decline was not expected by anyone and creates a state of doubt about the atmosphere of competition, and also reduces the points that any team needs to clinch the title, and I believe that obtaining 90 points will be enough to win it.”

The Italian coach moved on to talk about the Dani Olmo crisis and not registering him in Barcelona’s list, adding, “I do not know the details of the matter, but what I confirm is that I respect all clubs and the competent authorities, as well as the regulations and laws.”

Regarding Real Madrid’s need for new deals in the winter, Carlo replied, “Talking about this issue at the present time will be very difficult because we have many matches awaiting us this month, so we will wait to see what happens, and I see that the time is not appropriate to talk about deals and I confirm that I am happy with the current team’s structure.”

“David Alaba is ready to play in the matches, which will give us the opportunity to rotate the starting lineup, especially in the defense line, which is the position that suffers from the most numerical shortage in our team,” he said.

The Real Madrid coach stressed the difficulty of facing Valencia, noting that the rival’s contracting of a new coach will give his players additional incentives, in addition to the difficult atmosphere at Mestalla.

Ancelotti concluded his statements in response to a journalist, “Thank you for reminding me that the team did not achieve good results in the last two matches after the holidays, this is an incentive for us to respond strongly tomorrow.”
